In August 2007 I resigned from my job at USA TODAY and enrolled full-time at George Mason University to complete my degree in Global Affairs; concentrating in communication and technology and minoring in journalism.  Since then I have continued to work as a consultant for Washington D.C.’s leading progressive think-tank, The Center for American Progress.

Dedicated as a hub for my personal work in writing, photography, and web media the namesake of this site, Cain423, comes from my mother. When I was a child I always found myself in trouble.  My mother, ever the pious christian, would refer to me as Cain (yes the biblical Cain) in those moments.  She would say that I was as ‘bad as Cain’ and her ‘cross to bare.’  In time I took to liking the name so much that as an adult I considered changing my name legally to Cain.
